Ultra Rad's Slide Hustle
This is a puzzle game where you manage a limited budget as you navigate your way through garage sales and thrift stores to purchase valuable items. Research, repair, and resell those items for profit until your dad is proud of you.
The concept is a collaboration between Kenning and Ultra Rad Stuff, a local reselling business that inspired the game's theme. Kenning is responsible for all art and development of the game. Tyler Huffman, owner of Ultra Rad Stuff and Mood Shift Pictures, is responsible for the narrative and written history of the items players encounter during the game.

Challenges
The timeline for this game is grueling. 3 months to create an hour long puzzle game with a short narrative and engaging progression.
Solutions
First off, I went with a simplistic visual style and limited color palette. Assets that could be quickly 3D modeled and textured.
Next was the game engine. I have lots of experience with Unreal Engine, and when working fast the most important thing is stick with what you know.
Finally, ignorance. You can get a lot done when you don't know how hard it's going to be.
All of that together, and we had a playable demo for testers within 6 weeks of development.
